FAQs

Q:

Are Walk-in Baths Watertight?

A:

Yes – besides offering ease of access and a guaranteed leak-proof door (for both inward & outward opening doors), all Walk-in Bath models are rigorously tested & the leak-proof seals are airtight. For doors which open inwards (where bathroom space may be restrictive), the water pressure also adds more pressure to the seal.

Q:

Should I buy I short or long walk-in bath?

A:

In other words, should you buy a Classic or Long Tub Walk-in Bath - a lot depends on the space you have available. If you wish to fit an extra Walk-in Bath into a small space (smaller than a traditional bath length), then go for a Short or Classic Tub Walk-in Bath. If you simply wish to replace your existing bath for a Walk-in Bath to go into the same space, then go for a Long Tub.

Q:

Can you use a walk-in bath as a shower?

A:

Yes and quite a few Walk-in Baths models come with a shower option, either in the form of a stand-up or seated unit within your Bath - lots of people prefer to include this option.

Q:

How long does it take to fill and empty a walk-in bath?

A:

Same time as it would a traditional bath, if it's a Long Tub but if you have a Short / Classic Tub (deeper but shorter in length) – the water flow should be quicker and as you have a seated area (usually larger in width than a Long Tub) ∴ this takes up more space and less water is needed to fill the walk-in bath. Some classic tubs are wider in width and this will also affect the amount of water needed to fill to your desired depth.

Q:

Do walk in baths have hydrotherapy?

A:

Many versions & sizes of Walk-in Baths do have the facility - in some as standard, others as optional.

Q:

What are the benefits of hydrotherapy?

A:

The constant or intermittent flow of heated water, gently pushing against targeted area of the body is similar to a relaxing massage and recommended by some physiotherapists to help relive certain aches and strains.

Q:

Q:

Can I buy a Reconditioned Walk-in Bath?

A:

Yes – some manufacturers do cater for reconditioned Walk-in Baths, ones that were in good condition when removed to allow for a newer model to be installed. Like new, all these Walk-in Baths are approved and guaranteed by the manufacturer / installer. It's not so common for reconditioned Walk-in Showers to be sold, due to the wall panels being broken when removed.
